£24,000 Bingo Jackpot Winner

Helen Hopcraft, a mum and grandmother from Chesterton, Cambridge has just scooped over £24,000 on a single game of bingo.

On hearing her last number come out (number 86) she was so shocked that her husband had to shout out to stop the game.

Having played online bingo regularly for a number of years her biggest prize prior to this was £50.

“It was such a fantastic surprise. My children had already heard about the win, and were waiting to welcome me home – once I had finished the last few games of course!” Helen commented.

Helen, who has 4 children and 8 grandchildren said the realization is only just starting to sink in “I couldn’t sleep, I was so excited. We go to the bingo to socialize really –you can have a drink and it’s not too expensive – but I never dreamed I would win big money.”

Their plans for the money so far include a dream holiday in the sun, one Helen says they couldn’t have afforded before, along with a gift for all her children and grandchildren.

The club’s general manager said he was very pleased for Mrs Hopcraft and that two other players had won substantial prizes earlier the same evening.
