BingoMEGA Quarters Jackpot Winner
Shortly after winning an amazing $1,685.04 on a progressive bingo jackpot at BingoMEGA Quarters we caught up with the lucky player, nicknamed “DustieRose” for a quick chat.
She started by saying: “I had been very sick for 2 days and I was almost out of money in bingo. I was playing solitaire and watching the game without even being in chat. Then I saw the JP shield come down and I thought; Oh well someone is lucky today. I then saw my name and I was very happy. I went into chat and got congratulated by GMRock and the other players. I called my daughter into my room and showed her and she said; Right on Mom.”
Even though she wasn’t trying to win the online bingo JP, with her winnings she was quick to point out: “I plan to buy some furniture for my new home.”
She concluded by saying: “The last time I won a JP was in February 2004. I have been playing at BingoMEGA Quarters since it started. My advice to other players, it doesn’t take a lot; you just need to have the right cards, which is not always easy. I love MEGA.”

House Warned Against “Rash Decisions” in Banning Online Gambling in the States
“Don’t Bet On The House” letter points to the positive in LA Times editorial
Rep. Jon C Porter, Nevada, who has proposed Bill HR 5474 “The Internet Gaming Study Commission Act” distributed a letter this week to members of the U.S. House of Representatives urging them not to make any “rash decisions” on Internet gambling policy until a complete study has been undertaken as to the full implications of banning vs. regulating online gaming in the USA.
Political support is reported to be growing for Porter’s proposal that a bipartisan Congressional committee be appointed to conduct an in depth study of the online gambling phenomenon before any moves are made to ban it. Major elements in the American land gambling industry have already expressed support for the “look before you leap” concept of a full and unbiased investigation of the industry and its impact on American players.
Porter reinforced the message in his letter by attaching to it the powerful and largely positive Los Angeles Times editorial titled “Don’t Bet the House,” which ran the same day.

Bingo Embezzler Faces Jail Sentence
Earl Gene McClain, who was indicted last year for allegedly embezzling charity bingo money, recently pleaded guilty before Kentucky’s Boyd County Circuit Court. McClain, 63, an Ashland resident, faces one to five years in jail. The embezzler reportedly admitted that he failed to file all the required bingo slips. Nevertheless, he also claimed that he did not personally use the money designed to go to the Ashland Area Art Gallery.
The second indictment count, concerning his affiliation with a crime syndicate, was reportedly dropped after McClain collaborated with investigators and accepted to testify against other individuals involved in the case. Under the aforementioned plea agreement, McClain must pay back $10,000 to the bingo charity fund.
