Another huge progressive jackpot won on Bingo Empire!

There was a lot of excitement over at Bingo Empire on Friday, when another Bingo progressive jackpot was won. It had grown to a gigantic $10,357.64, when the lucky player known as gemmy hit the jackpot. Gemmy who is from Honea Path, South Carolina was available for comment when I called her. I asked gemmy;

How did it feel when you first realised you’d won?

Gemmy “I nearly passed out. That is a LOT of money!”

And what do you intend to do with your winnings?

Gemmy “We have a new home and the payment was a lot more than we expected. We have been scrambling to keep up. We will pay the payments up and pay off credit cards so that we can stay on top of things again. What a Godsend this was. We thought we were going to lose the house.”

How long have you been playing online bingo at Bingo Empire, and will you continue to play there?

Gemmy “Since it opened lol. You bet I will continue to play there!”

What message would you give to other players on Bingo Empire?

Gemmy “Keep up the faith. It can and will happen when you least expect it. I, like everyone else, had dreams of hitting that JP. I had put in my last bit of bingo cash. This was the end for me until we had our bills under control. I was down to $20 and set on 12 cards to play afk. I play a lot of cards sometimes and sometimes I only play a few. It can happen to anyone at any time no matter how many cards you are playing.”

It is good to hear such a heart-warming story from an avid bingo player. I congratulated gemmy, and asked if she had anything else she would like to say about Bingo Empire? I think her parting words summed it all up rather well;

Gemmy “Bingo Entertainment ROCKS. It’s the best bingo company online!”

DOUBLE Jackpot Joy for Exclusive Tab Puller!

There has been quite a buzz lately not only about big online bingo jackpots, but also big jackpots on other games. One such game that is very popular amongst online bingo players is Pull Tabs. I admit to being a regular and avid online bingo player, but I hadn’t ever had a go on Pull Tabs. After hearing of a few players who had won around $250 on these games recently, I decided to have a go at the Pull Tabs and see what the excitement was all about.

I went to Exclusive Bingo, which is one of my favorite sites run by Bingo Entertainment Ltd. No need for me to deposit, I still had a balance in my account after winning a $50 fixed pot on one of the many regular specials that take place at Exclusive Bingo. I found the Pull Tabs were a very easy and fun way to pass the time, and you can play whilst your bingo cards are in play, if you set your options to auto daub & auto bingo. I chose to play on the 50c ‘Beach’ theme.

At Exclusive Bingo, the choices for Pull Tabs range from 25c up to $5, with various themes to choose from such as Wildlife, Beach, F1, Toys etc. You simply buy a ticket, and it is auto scratched for you. If you match 3 in a row, you win the prize indicated. I saw that on the F1 Pull Tab, which cost $2 you can win from $6 up to $1,400 if you match 3. The prizes vary depending on which theme you choose, but take note; if you buy a $5 Pull Tab on the ‘Gamble’ theme for instance, you can win from $15 up to $4,000!

After only a few Pulls I was elated to match 3 and win $10! I had to have a chat to the friendly Chat Master Jess, to tell her how much I like Pull Tabs. It was then that Jess mentioned that there had been a DOUBLE winner on Pull Tabs this month on Exclusive Bingo. One player had won $1,400 on Pull Tabs on 7 th January, and then another $1,500 on Pull Tabs one week later! The player known as Smellen, who is from Mishawaka, Indiana, was unavailable when I tried to contact her; no doubt she is busy finding ways to spend all that extra cash.

Neteller – US market withdrawal

18 January 2007 – NETELLER Plc (LSE: NLR), the leading independent online money transfer business, today issued the following update regarding its position in the US market in the light of the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act of 2006 (the “Act” or “UIGEA”) and the Act’s associated anticipated regulations.

US market withdrawal

•Withdrawal of US Transfers to Gambling Merchants: The Board confirms that the Group will cease processing online transactions related to gambling for the US market with effect from today in light of the passing of the UIGEA and the uncertainties and likely delays relating to the drafting and implementing of regulations.

•Phased Compliance: This announcement reflects the culmination of a series of deliberations and steps the Group has taken since the passing of the UIGEA in October 2006. Previous steps have included the development of country blocking and instant funds transfer restriction enhancements to the Group’s software platform.

•Timeline: As of today Thursday 18 January 2007, at 12:01AM GMT, US resident customers were no longer able to transfer funds using NETELLER’s services to or from any online gambling site.

•Group’s Future Focus: These decisions will allow the Group to focus on opportunities available in the growing markets of Europe, Asia, and the Americas outside of the United States.

Neteller Arrests

ON 16th January two former NETELLER PLC directors, John David Lefebvre, 55, and Stephen Eric Lawrence, 46, both Canadian citizens, and travelling separately, were arrested by US Authorities and have since been charged with laundering billions of dollars in gambling proceeds.

They were both charged with conspiring to transfer funds with the intent to promote illegal gambling, and could face a maximum of 20 years in prison if convicted. The charges against them were contained in two criminal complaints unsealed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Monday.

U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia said in a statement; “The men knew when they took their company public that its activities were illegal. Blatant violations of U.S. law are not a mere ‘risk’ to be disclosed to prospective investors.” He continued “Criminal prosecutions related to online gambling will be pursued even in cases where assets and defendants are positioned outside of the United States.”

NETELLER PLC began processing Internet gambling transactions around July 2000, allowing companies to transfer money from U.S. customers to bank accounts overseas. Prosecutors cited NETELLER’s 2005 annual report in saying that Lawrence and Lefebvre enabled the company to provide payment services to more than 80 percent of worldwide gaming merchants.

On their website, NETELLER immediately issued the following press release: –

16th January 2007

Online gambling soars – Mobile gambling set to follow

The results of a study by consultancy firm Morse suggested almost one-third (30%) of office workers had either placed a bet online or knew someone who had. Online gambling at work costs firms in England more than £300m each year in lost productivity. The survey results came from interviews with 664 office workers across the UK.

A consultant at Morse, Philip Wicks, said: “Many employees have unmonitored access to the internet, and the fact that they can now follow most sporting events online, coupled with the rise of Internet gambling websites, has tempted people to place a ‘quick bet’ online. However, these bets all add up, and can greatly impact businesses productivity.”

And another report commissioned by analyst house Juniper Research, suggests that despite a war on web gambling raging in some parts of the world, mobile gambling is set to enjoy growth for some years to come. From its findings, Juniper forecasts that stakes gambled on mobiles will reach $16.6bn globally by 2011 – up from $1.35bn last year, despite cutbacks in the forecast for the North American region.

Juniper believes for the next two years Europeans will be the biggest gamblers, in terms of spend, but the region will be overtaken in 2008 by Asia Pacific, who they predict are set to spend $6.7bn by 2011.
